The arts program at Chenango Valley Central School District is designed to meet the national and state standards using a progressive art curriculum. Within a studio environment, students will develop a foundation of artistic techniques as well as an understanding of various materials and processes.

In addition, students will create works that explore different subject matter, topics, and themes. Through group and individual critiques, students will reflect, interpret, and evaluate artwork using the language of art criticism. By exploring artifacts from different cultures and historical periods, students will discover how time and place influence visual characteristics of artwork as well as the effect of art on different societies.
